The
ICA firmly believes that sustainable rural development is possible only
thorough positive participation of the people at the grassroots level.
In the planning of any project, it is ICA's policy to repeatedly carry
out leadership training programs that facilitate motivation and commitment
of the participants. However, the leadership training does not aim to
foster only a small number of leaders. It aims to bring each one of
the participants awareness as a member of the project, with a firm commitment
and confidence.
The
ICA's leadership training programs are based on the Human Development Method,
which avoids top-down and lecture type training. A professional facilitator
draws thoughts, ideas, and opinions from the participants in the programs.
As there is a variety of facilitation methods, the programs can be carried
out in a flexible manner.
The
participants of the leadership programs gradually acquire a positive attitude
as they attend repeatedly. This happens because the participants begin to
have self-confidence. The facilitator, in a very professional manner, draws
opinions and thoughts even from groups such as women who are unlikely to
have the power to participate in meetings.
